I am an architectural, interiors, and fine art photographer based in Chilliwack, one hour east of Vancouver, British Columbia. My architectural, interiors, and aerial drone clients are located throughout the Fraser Valley, Metro Vancouver, British Columbia, and across Canada. And my fine art images are proudly displayed in homes and offices around the world. For over 30 years I have been crafting images with meticulous attention to quality and detail.

My interest in photography goes back to the 1970s when I starting experimenting with processing black and white, colour prints and transparencies in my own darkrooms. After college I started a career in prepress production in the printing industry, working with large process cameras, some two rooms in size. 

Being a photographer I gravitated towards photo reproduction, operating large sheet film Hell, Crossfield, and Dainippon Screen analog drum scanners for some of the largest prepress trade shops and printers in Western Canada. I would eventually teach prepress production and drum scanning at Vancouver Community College. Once the digital age came along I became the Director of Information Technology for one of the largest publishers in Canada, working closely with the Photoshop and scanning departments to approve colour for over 50 publications. For the past 12 years I have photographed over 6000 locations and countless products as Carsten Arnold Photography.

Over the past 30 years I have worked with many talented artists and have scanned their original artwork with meticulous detail and colour accuracy. You would be hard pressed to find someone as dedicated and knowledgeable in digitizing your artwork. Carmel Studios is my in house photo scanning, photo editing, and photo restoration service.

When I'm not shooting or editing images for my clients, I spend time on fine art photography, hiking, fly fishing, and exploring the backroads of British Columbia, the Yukon and the Northwest Territories, all the way to the Arctic Ocean.
